Trying to get remove my ExWife

Hello I thought I was the administrator behind my site
I have managed to change her to a contributor rather than an administrator but if she can get any access it could be devastating to the little business. Can you please help what I can do… Do I just recreate the site elsewhere?

Thank you for the link – I did try this already but I get the below.

Absolutely no idea why not… The user is a serious blogger and I may well have accidentally used her user settings to set this up and then added me as the administrator once I realized I wanted to do it..

This message means you are not the Admin either.
Who created the site? i.e. Who is the owner. You ex-wife doesn’t seem to be the owner because blog owner’s role cannot be set to anything other than Administrator. As you have set her role to contributor, she is clearly not the owner.
Only owner or admin can manage users.

Just adding that if you successfully demoted the user from Admin to Contributor, this is what they can do on the site:
A Contributor can create and edit only their own posts, but cannot publish them. When one of their posts is ready to be published, or has been revised, the Administrator needs to be notified personally by the Contributor to review it. Furthermore, once a Contributor’s post is approved and published by an Administrator, it can no longer be edited by the Contributor.
Contributors do not have the ability to upload files or images, but they can see your site’s stats.

So even if you aren’t able to remove them entirely, there’s really not much they can do on the site.
