Trying to get site back up

    Hello! I want to get the site back up by buying the old domain again. the new one would be trigemhomesandgardens.com. I would also be interested in setting up at least 1 email address. The domain name is available my only concern is that the last time I had the website running I hardly got any traffic to it and I don’t know if it was because of the way that I initially set it up. When you look at it it reads as https://trigemhomesandgardenscom.wordpress.com/wp-admin/. It should have never had the com at the end. That was my mistake. So I’m wondering if I need to start all over again to make sure that google will find it?

    The site address doesn’t matter in whether or not Google and other search engines find it.

    Search engines need just two things: That your site is public, and that there is content for them to index.

    Your site at https://trigemhomesandgardenscom.wordpress.com/ is public, but you’ve never published any blog posts, only a bunch of static pages, and those are all five years old. Your site is indexed, as can be seen at https://www.google.co.za/search?q=site%3Ahttps%3A%2F%2Ftrigemhomesandgardenscom.wordpress.com%2F, but search engines want recent content, and you haven’t published new content, nor updated existing content in years. So even though your site is indexed in Google, it likely only appears on page 20 for relevant search terms, where no one ever looks :)

    To address that, try making some updates to your pages. Also consider adding a blog/news section to your site where you can post regular updates about your company. Sites that have a section like this almost always rank higher than sites that only have pages with static content.

    That said, having a custom domain like trigemhomesandgardens.com will also help, but not as much as having recent content on the site.

    As for the domain and email, note that to use your own domain with a WordPress.com site now requires a paid plan. Once the domain is registered, you can set up a forwarding email address, or else you can connect a hosted email from any email provider to the domain. We sell both Google’s Google Workspace email, and Titan email subscriptions on WordPress.com.
