trying to hide menu and widgets on certain pages in twenty fourteen
-
Hi, I’m trying to create a page (or pages) that do not have the full menu or widgets that other pages on my site have. I’d like this page to stand alone, as it were, so viewers wouldn’t be able to click links to other pages.
In effect, it would a page on my site like any other page, but links to other pages (in the menu) would either not be visible or not work, and the widgets would be gone. Is that possible?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes, that is possible by specifically targeting the pages using the unique page id CSS class set in the opening body html tag, and then using the unique menu id CSS classes to hide specific menu items. The same for the widgets, but you also have the option of using Widget Visibility to determine which widgets appear where. You could specifically exclude, or specifically show widgets on certain pages.
It would be easier for us to give some concrete examples for you to follow, if you can provide us with an example page link.
