Trying to Import

  When I choose a file from my folder–it tells me that it’s an XLM document, but when I try to import it–a notices comes up to say that it is not an XLM file! I am importing from Xanga.

  For further instructions on how to do a Xanga import, please see: http://en.support.wordpress.com/import/import-from-xanga/

  Note that you must open the .zip export folder you get from Xanga and import ALL of the files included in the .zip folder individually.

  Occasionally users have reported issues with their files not being recognized.

  First, be sure you are trying to import the .xml files that came in your .zip export file from Xanga. If the importer doesn’t recognize the file type, you might try using the WordPress importer rather than the Xanga one. If that still doesn’t help, please try a different browser.

  If you’ve tried all those things and are still having difficulty, please let me know.
