  On WordPress.com there’s no need to to update anything as we take care of this for you. It sounds like you’re talking about a site that is not hosted with us.

  Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers.
