Trying to install WordPress/a plugin for my site?

  I’ve been updating my site directly from WordPress the entire time I’ve had it. I animate gifs and post them on andygottschalk.com/gifs and just now I want to download a plugin for my site that will help them load faster called Lazy Load. I’m unsure of how plugins work, though. And I’m unsure of whether there is a WordPress software that I needed to install. I’m using Blue Host server, if that helps. Thank you!
