Trying to make the sidebar static

    I have my sidebar configured with widgets on my front page, which is of recent posts. This is great, I have my recent posts, and in the sidebar, I have my basic links such as a link to my portfolio and a follow me button on twitter and probably more in the future.

    However, when I click on a post, the sidebar remains. Is there a way I can get rid of the sidebar for pages other than the front one? Because, my link and twitter information are irrelevant on any other page – I just want it to be on the front page when people first see the blog. In addition, it limits the space I have for the post.

    In the theme you’re using, you can deactivate the sidebar on static pages but not on single posts. If you want both, then your options are very limited – see here:
