Trying to monetize the free wordpress.com account

    PayPal is too complicated for me (I have the worst situation in the world….) Can I make and post my own ‘Donate!’ button instead, is my question.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    You can use any button from any reputable payment processor that uses plain HTML only to embed it on your site. The PayPal Buy Now/Donate button documented at https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/ is the only one we know of.

    And you’re also welcome to add a link to your profile on Patreon, or any other crowdfunding/donations service if you prefer.

    But we will not allow you to create your own button or form that allows you to capture people’s credit card details directly on your site. There are very strict laws regarding the ways in which credit card information is allowed to be collected and used online, and it’s not possible to implement any of the required security measures on a WordPress.com site.
