trying to move my site to here

    I want to move my site from where it is at this moment to WordPress because I feel WordPress has better options and customizations but would like to build out my website, so it is a smooth transfer from the old website to the new one, but I no longer have that option. I can’t even get past the domain information to start building the website. When I built my first website on here less than a year ago, I could make the website then add the domain later once it was ready for that and it seems that is no longer an option even though there AI support says it is. and it is frustrating that I can’t talk to someone to help me understand either what I am doing wrong or what has changed since January of this year. does anyone have tips on how to make it work, or know what has changed?

    You could build a free site here and when you’re ready upgrade it to a paid plan to add or transfer a custom domain.

    You can create a new site on WordPress.com without adding a custom domain right away. When you start a new site, you’ll be prompted to enter a possible domain name, but you can skip purchasing one and continue with a free site address that ends in .wordpress.com. This lets you build and customize your site freely before connecting your own domain later on.

    When you’re ready to assign it a custom domain, you can connect your custom domain or purchase one: https://wordpress.com/support/domains/register-domain
