Trying to purchase Personal plan and can't
-
I’ve been trying to upgrade my free plan to the Personal plan for my new blog (inmyrealife.wordpress.com) but can’t access the Personal plan to purchase it! I have other blogs here (on different accounts on wordpress.com), on one of which I’m paying the Personal plan rate of £3 per month, and I see it is still available when I’m logged out of all my accounts on this page: https://wordpress.com/pricing/ but the lowest available option on my inmyrealife.wordpress.com blog’s plans page is Premium at £9. Is it only available for new users of the site? If so, why on earth doesn’t it say that somewhere?
If I do manage to get the upgrade, I don’t want a custom domain but would like to stick with the wordpress.com subdomain. I mostly want the upgrades to avoid ads and so that I can remove the cookie banner at the bottom of the blog (I’ve made a privacy page instead.)
Hope you can help soon, many thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You can still purchase the Personal plan from the following link:

Thank you for your reply, but I’m afraid that doesn’t help as it’s for people who want a custom domain for a new blog (in other words, one they’ll be creating when they choose the domain). It’s the same problem that I had before: it won’t recognise that I already have a blog (inmyrealife.wordpress.com) and it’s that blog I want the upgrade for as I don’t want ads on it. I tried getting a personal paid account for it via that link (using the button for Personal, there) and all it did was take me to a page where I could create a new blog. I didn’t realise at first so followed instructions and I found I’d created one called inmyrealiferocks.wordpress.com and as I didn’t want a different or new blog, have deleted it.
If I select Premium, at £9 per month, as that’s what is visible from the Plans part of my wp-admin dashboard, would it be possible for you or another member of staff to downgrade my blog to Personal afterwards?

They seem to have been messing about with the option of a Personal plan for UK users. Some see it, some evidently don’t. I still see it in my account. Just a thought, but I wonder if you click on https://wordpress.com/personal/ then “create your site” and then “back to my sites” on the far left and choose the site you want to upgrade then “plans” you might have more luck. If not I’m sure a member of staff should be able to put the right plan onto your account.

Thanks @themagicrobot, I just tried that, but I still see the same as before. I’ll wait for staff to help me.
-
Perhaps it’s because you’re working with this brand new account rather than using an existing account where the option could still be available? This thread is tagged for staff assistance.

I’ve just sorted it out, thanks. I found where the upgrade lives on my account settings – I’d been trying to find it via the wp-admin dashboard, and although I’d tried it on the correct MySites area , I hadn’t spotted a particular button that I’d not used before. The modlook tag can be removed now – thanks for adding it. I’ll just check everything is okay and if it is, I’ll mark this as resolved. Thanks again.

I keep trying to mark this ‘resolved’ and it won’t do it. Could a member of staff do it for me please? Thanks!
