Trying to put image on my webring text widgets

    I know that you have a few forums about putting buttons and images on widgets. I’ve followed all of the instructions in the other forums and FAQ about uploading images and still have had no luck. I have 3 buttons that I would like to use in lieu of the text boxes format for the webring and a few other buttons I would also like to include. Everytime I type an image code <img src=”http….”/> into the widget box and press save changes, it erases. my blog is geckogrrl.wordpress.com

    Please do us a favor and actually put the code you’re trying to add in. Putting ‘….’ doesn’t help. Something is wrong with what you’re trying to put in and we can’t check that for you unless you allow us to see it.

    Unless you can tell me what book I’m holding up in front of the monitor right now. :)

    This is the code I tried based on the FAQ example. I uploaded the button from my computer since the website says not to link directly to it, and clicked on the ‘link’ button in manage uploads…

    <img
    src=”http://geckogrrl.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/fiberblogs.jpg”/>

    I’m wondering if I’m doing this wrong or if I’m missing something?

    Thanks!

    Dr. Mike

    I figured out what the problem was, there needed to be a link to the webpage on wordpress (maybe something that could be changed in the FAQ?). I added <a> to the image code and it worked somehow.

    That’s good. :)

    By the way, the box with the fiberblogs.jpg file is too wide for your sidebar. It’s forcing the sidebar down to teh bottom.

    Thanks, I made the jpg. a lot smaller and tried again… It seems to work now!
