Trying to put survey into sidebar using Html, can't get it to work

I am using the survey plugin and I am trying to insert a survey into the sidebar. I am using a text widget but when I put in the html code [survey 1] it doesn’t show up. It shows up as the text [survey 1] I have also tried <!-[SURVEYS 1]–> and <!– surveys 1–> and variations. Is it possible to put a survey in the sidebar?
