Trying to reconnect a past expired domain

    I am trying to reconnect a domain expired with your service this past June. I have tried to access it but both through WordPress and Squarespace (where I currently manage my website), the domain is unavailable. I was hoping you might be able to find out what’s happened in case it’s in limbo

    Expired domains go through a process of about 80 days before they are released for re-registration. During the redemption phase of this process we can still recover the domain by paying a fee to our registrar, but the redemption period for your domain has already passed and it is no longer possible to recover it.

    At this point all you can do is to wait for the domain to be released. As we don’t control this process I cannot tell you exactly how long that will take, but I suggest you keep checking every couple of days whether you can register it again.

    Note that once it’s released anyone will be able to register it, in which case you will lose it completely.
