Trying to redirect my Homestead website to WordPress – Having Trouble

I changed the name servers for the old web address, and now I get an error message that says the page cannot be found.
Is there a specific record that I should change? Homestead says they need very specific instructions of how they needed to point the site. Or is changing the name servers the only thing I need to do or is there an additional change that should be made besides the name servers.
Also, after the name servers are changed, is there anything that I need to do personally in my account to redirect to my website?

Hi @fortifiedsolutions, you would need to change the name servers and have mapping here.
First, choose a plan here:
https://wordpress.com/plansThen use the domain credit at https://wordpress.com/domains
Then, after you update your name servers, it will work.

I currently have the free plan. Is that why when I changed the name servers it did not work?

@fortifiedsolutions, you can’t use your custom domain name with the free plan.
As suggested by @supernovia you need to upgrade to a paid account first.

I updated to a new plan and changed the name servers but it is still not redirecting??? Am I missing something?
