Trying to release my domain

  Hello,

  I am hoping to release my domain from any association with WordPress.com as I am going to use another service to build my site. Do I need to do anything in particular to free up my domain?

  You can use this guide https://en.support.wordpress.com/move-domain/transfer-domain-registration/ to transfer out your domain from WordPress.com to another registrar.

  @fphumanityadmin domains have a few time-sensitive restrictions. if you cancel the domain within 48 hours of registration, it will be released after a few business days.

  If those 48 hours are already passed, I recommend pointing the domain to the new provider first:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/change-name-servers/

  Then you can transfer it after 60 days of registration.
