Trying to remove Category: from my category pages.
-
I tried using the CSS noted in some of the other posts about this topic, didn’t seem to work for me. I tried it copy and pasted exactly (3 lines of code) and then tried is as a single string also in case that was the problem. Neither worked for me to hide the word. Is it not possible in this theme to do so?
At one point I found the location in the theme to go in and edit the URL to remove the word category from the URL, I think there was a way in that editing section to also remove the title, but I haven’t been able to find my way back there a second time.

Hi there,
It is possible to use CSS to remove the entire title, but there is no way to target just a portion of the title. So there is no way to remove just the “Category” text and leave the rest. Instead you may wish to create manual “category pages” by creating a new blank page on your site, giving in the title you want it to have, and then adding the Blog Posts block to the empty page: https://en.support.wordpress.com/wordpress-editor/blocks/blog-posts-block/
This will allow you to layout settings in the block to create the look you are after, and also in the block setting is a way to specify that it show only posts from a specific category.
More info on how this is done in our recent webinar on custom blog pages:
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.
