Trying to renew existing domain mapping without buying a premium plan

I’m trying to renew my domain mapping, though it is impossible to achieve this without paying $99 for a premium plan (I just want to map my domain to an already existing domain I have); I was informed by email that all I had to do was paying $13.00 for the renewal. What should I do? Thanks in advance.

What is the domain URL? Has it expired?
When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.
If you are in the grace period you will not have to agree to pay a redemption fee set by the domain name registrar that wordpress.COM staff cannot waive. Otherwise, if you want Staff to try to recover the domain for you then you will have to agree to pay the redemption fee.
I’ve tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.
If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

Hey timethief, thank you for replying. Yes, my domain expired may 7th, and now following the proccess to renew it (though I was informed on a WP email that I was to pay the $13.00 renewal tax), when I try to map my domain I’m automatically asked to purchase a premium plan. I had not buyed it before as I can remember. I cannot find how can I just pay for renew my domain mapping, without buying this plan for my website. This is where I am stuck up now… thank you for your help.

You can use the Personal Plan, yes, but you need to add the plan first. If you add the domain first, Premium is selected automatically.
Go to My Site ->Plans and buy the Personal Plan, and then you can go back and claim your free domain at My Site ->Domains ->Add.

Thanks again. So, should I have to upgrade to another plan before I attempt to map my blog to my domain (again)? Last year I just payed to map the domain for $13.00. But now I can’t find this option here, instead. So why is this mentioned in WP email?
Here is the email text:
“Urgent! The domain upgrade for your blog marcosmonteiro.mus.br expired yesterday.
The domain upgrade on your blog “Marcos Monteiro” has expired yesterday on May 6, 2017. Your blog is no longer available on the domain “marcosmonteiro.mus.br”.
Renew marcosmonteiro.mus.br
Renewing this upgrade for another year costs $13.00. When you renew, your blog will again be available at “marcosmonteiro.mus.br”. Note that your blog is always available at its default address, “mmvozeviolao.wordpress.com”.Make sure you also keep the domain registration for “marcosmonteiro.mus.br” renewed with your registrar.

Stand alone upgrades were discontinued. If the domain has expired you have to purchase a personal plan now. You cannot do that until Staff recover the domain. This thread is tagged for their help. Be patient while waiting.

You are now being asked to purchase a plan because your domain mapping upgrade expired. I was able to restore it to your account as it expired very recently but you have limited time to renew. Please renew as soon as you can on your Manage Purchases page:

As timethief mentioned, it is no longer possible to purchase domain mapping without a plan. If it expires again or is removed from your site you will need to purchase a plan to get it back.
Come back to me if you have any problems with the renewal.

Hi there, I am trying to renew domain mapping on my free plan for $17CAD for randleplumbing.ca. When I try to renew using my AMEX I get an error message saying “This transaction cannot be processed due to an unsupported currency.”
The mapping expires tomorrow so I need this resolved ASAP.
Are you able to send me a manual transaction link?
