Trying to renew my domain
-
Trying to renew my domain but WordPress says it is already owned, but it is owned by me. I checked with the ICANN site, and the domain is still in redemption period, so it is still available through WordPress, but the site seems to think it is too late. Is there anyone at WordPress that we can contact to reclaim and website that was not renewed on time.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Expired means over, dead, done and finished. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/ We focus on not allowing domains to expire so others can purchase them when they are auctioned off and that’s why we have an auto renew feature. https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/#auto-renew
Assuming you are agreeable to paying the redemption fee, Staff need details to recover the domain.
1. What is the domain URL?
2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
4. When was the upgrade purchased?
5. When did the refund request and upgrade cancellation, or the domain expiration take place?
I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. Yes, I would be willing to pay the redemption fee.
1. What is the domain URL?

Hi folks. @compwatcher I’ve emailed an invoice & some details.
@timethief for what it’s worth, as long as they’re logged into the correct account, staff can access all of the data we need. No need to ask folks to post it all publicly.

Thanks SuperNovia, I was not happy to have to display this information publicly. Is there some way to delete the post? I cannnot seem to edit it or delete it. Thanks!

@supernovia
I do not know if they are logged in under the correct account when the URL is not provided and even when it is provided I still don’t know. -

@Timethief I really appreciated your responses. Thank you for taking the time to help me and the community, and thanks helping me get in contact with an admin! Maybe next time, I would prefer not putting out my domain name as it provides hackers with a connection between account and domain. Your hint about how to get the attention of WordPress staff was awesome. You were a huge help! Thanks!

We appreciate @timethief’s help too.
Something simple plus a modlook would be ideal, I think. You can use your own words, but this is basically what we’d need:
When you let your domain expire, it goes through a process that can take several months:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/I’ve flagged this thread for staff attention. If you’re logged into an account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you may be using a different account, let us know what the domain is so they can find it that way.

@timethief I totally get it re: the different account thing. It definitely makes things tricky. But in those cases if we have the domain we’ll be able to figure out something from there.
I added just a bit to that response to help out re: asking for the domain if needed.
-
lol :D I also did the same with my new copy and paste response.
When you allow your domain expire, it then goes through a process that can take several months to complete described at https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/.
I’ve tagged this thread in the sidebar with modlook for Staff attention.
If you’re logged into the account that is associated with your expired domain, they will look up its status and get in touch with details.
If you are not logged in under the correct username account then clear your browser cache https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-your-browser-cache and cookies https://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clearing-wordpress-com-cookies prior to logging into the associated account, and provide the domain URL here.

I’m going to go ahead and close this thread since we’re wrapping it up via email. Cheers, all :)
