Trying to report a scam site
-
Hi there, reaching out in regards to what I believe is a scam website being hosted by your platform, Woo Commerce. No idea where else to post this as it was a nightmare even getting to this forum.
I fell for a sponsored ad on Facebook for Christmas sweaters from a company called Outfit Gift Shop (outfitgiftshop.com) that says is powered by Woo Commerce. My “order confirmation” was sent from Outfit Giftstore on 11/11/23. At the same time, I got an email saying “Your The Main Street Boutique order has been received” from Justan 4 Allen Town.
On 11/15/23, I got an email saying “Your The Main Street Boutique order is now complete” from Justan 4 Allen Town. At the same time, I also got an email saying “Your Outfit Giftstore order is now complete” from new named company, Outfit Gift Shop
On 11/21, I got an email saying my order was shipped from Outfit Gift Shop. The tracking info I’ve been given, USPS 92487902816707880037725563, says USPS is awaiting the item in New York when the company is supposedly based out of Las Vegas. This status of “USPS awaiting item” has not been updated since the order was placed…
I googled mapped the address on the website, which says the address is 304 S Jones Blvd Las Vegas, NV 89107. This literally goes to a parking lot with a tax business and a spa business shown..
Just 2 days after I placed my order, the same card I used to pay for the “sweater” was hacked/stolen and had charges ran up…pretty suspicious.
There are several reviews and comments from people on their Facebook page (page on Facebook is titled Handmade Outfit) that they ordered and their orders never showed up either – some as far back as ordering in September! No idea what/if you guys can do anything, but since your platform is hosting a scam business, I figured ya’ll would/should know about it..sad thing is, this is probably 1 of thousands of them out there. And now I’m out $60 and had my information stolen.
It took me all night last night to finally find the FB page (I have pictures of it ready to share and the ad from my Facebook feed). Please do something and let me know if there is anything else I can provide. -
Hey there @d9t22kjfbw! I’m so sorry you’re going through this!
I can confirm that site does not use our hosting at all.
And WooCommerce (and WordPress too) is free code that powers millions of sites across the web; anyone can download and use it without extra permissions. But they do have to have services to get online, so your best bet is reaching out to their host.
It sounds like you’ve done a lot of legwork already. I can confirm the site uses Cloudflare services right now, so you might reach out there first, as their service inadvertently conceals the real hosting provider. This document has some ideas that can help, too:

Hoping this helps!
