Trying to set main menu as the home page
-
On other sites I’ve got the “Welcome” menu as the home page so that when you click on “Welcome” it goes to the root URL (so it opens up to that page as well as goes to it when clicked). But the way the current default page is, I can’t edit it (perhaps because it’s a blog page and I’m trying to create a static page). I don’t do this often enough to keep this all straight — I just know that I don’t recall having this much trouble with it before. Please advise. Thanks, Rick

Hi there,
Just to make sure I understand, you’re just trying to set your site so that visitors see a static home page rather than your blog posts, correct?
If so, then all you need to do is follow the steps laid out in this help document: http://en.support.wordpress.com/pages/front-page/
If there was something else though, please let me know! I’m happy to help.

Ah yes, that’s it! :o) Thanks a bunch! Now that I see that Reading setting again, I remember doing before on other sites, but I just couldn’t remember this time. Forgive me, I’m totally shot after a weekend of no good sleep — and I’m whipping up this site as a protest. ;o) Anyway, much appreciated!!

No worries at all! That is exactly why we are here.
Best of luck with the new site, and let me know if you run in to any other problems as you’re building it out.

Thanks again!! You guys are ALWAYS AWESOME and so understanding — and I sure appreciate it! :o)
