Trying to share a pdf from my media library with featured image to Facebook.

I am trying to share a pdf attachment from my library on Facebook. Ideally, I would like it to open from the featured image I have selected. I can’t seem to accomplish that by posting the url from my media library as there seems to be no way to select a thumbnail. If I create a blog post from the media with a featured image and try to share that to Facebook, it nearly works, but takes three clicks to get to the pdf. I am trying to accomplish what I have created on my homepage: Click on the image that says “Hollywood Grows a Pair” and the pdf launches directly. Is there any way to get that same functionality into a Facebook post, linked back to my page? Thanks for your help. Here’s my home page for reference: http://mikeschulte.la

Hi there,
When you share a post or page from your site to Facebook, you’ll have to click through to your site before you can get to the PDF. Facebook won’t pull in a direct link to the PDF if you share it that way.
You’re welcome to paste a direct link to one of your PDFs in a Facebook update, and that will create a link that someone can click on in Facebook to get to that PDF. That’s the most directly route for sharing a PDF on Facebook, although it won’t add any images to your Facebook update.
Another option might be to use the “Add Photos/Video” button on Facebook to upload an image, and then paste a direct link to the PDF in the Facebook update. That way you’ll have both an image and a link to the PDF.
