Trying to Start Fresh COMPLETELY

  • Unknown's avatar

The nightmare started last night. The site was running slow so I tried to speed things up with Swift Performance Lite. Somehow it injected some code into my site and ruined everything. Spent hours looking for help. Couldn’t find any, so I decided to start over fresh.

I saved all my posts and media. I deleted EVERYTHING. I went to my hosting site and completely deleted the website. And then re-installed wordpress.

I am currently replacing everything EXACTLY the way it was before, using the same themes, logos, etc.

The problem is that I can see all the work while I am logged in, but when I check the website on a different computer (not logged in) nothing works. Only the new theme shows up. But nothing else. I cleared the cache and still nothing. New posts with same permalinks not showing up.

I think I need to clear something in myPHP admin and/or MySQL database. Can anyone tell me what I need to do to simply start over COMPLETELY. I think there is a duplicate “something-or-another”. Or a conflict somewhere.

I don’t know anything about wordpress. All I know I learned on youtube.

Can ANYONE please help me out here?

    PLEASE!!!!!!!!!

    Hi there,

It appears your website to be a self-hosted installation of the WordPress.org software rather than a WordPress.com-hosted site
This support forum is designed to help sites hosted by WordPress.com. For more information, you can check out this link: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org.

If you are in need of support for your self-hosted website you may be able to find an support from the WordPress.org support page at the link provided: https://wordpress.org/support/ or as an alternative you may want to contact your hosting provider.

    Thanks.
