Trying to STOP auto-emailing posts to followers

    Ok, so I feel like a moron but I just cant find what I am looking for.
    Previously, I had my WP.com site set up to send an email blast with an excerpt and link to my most recent post, whenever I posted. Hit publish, email goes out.
    Now I am switching to using MailChimp for campaigns etc. I have migrated my current subscribers there, but I want to stop blasting them from WP after each post, so I can instead send an email via MailChimp.
    But for the life of me, I cannot find where to do it. I thought there was a box under ‘Settings’ somewhere that you just ticked on or off for this function, but I cant find it.

    Hi there, Are we talking about your above WordPressdotcom site at newlyfleds (great name, by the way)?

    If so, your readers/followers/subscribers choose how they receive notices of your new posts. They could be reading in the WPcom Reader or by RSS feed reader or by email. More on that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/followers/

    As such you may want to consider publishing a post about the upcoming change to MailChimp and suggesting they unsub from their current notification method and sign up for the new one. And of course give them a good reason to do so. Making changes is hard! :)

    TL:DR there’s no way to “turn off” new post notifications from your side.

    Yes, that is outdated, it is for newlyfledsblog.com not .wordpress.com

    This is specifically for followers who have signed up via email, not WP following (honestly it is mainly my first followers such as my mom, grandma and her book club so I’d like to confuse them the LEAST and just start emailing via mailchimp)

    Because your site at newlyfledsblog.com is running the standalone WP software and is not hosted here on WordPressdocom, you should really head over to https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page and https://wordpress.org/support/ for assistance. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums, you can register one on that page.

    Standalone WP and WordPressdotcom are separate entities; more information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
