Trying to transfer my domain on wordpress to godaddy.com
-
I keep getting this email from godaddy.com saying “Dear Devan Edwards,
You recently purchased a domain registrar transfer for:
NIMBIDESIGN.COM
To complete this transfer, we need approval of the administrative contact for this domain name. However, the administrative email address obtained from your current registrar is invalid, or could not be obtained.
The current administrative email address is .
After you update the administrative email address on file for this domain at your current registrar, you may reinitiate this transfer.”
I’m not sure where to change the email, what the email is because it appears blank above, and how to get “nimbidesign.com” on my godaddy.com account. So I can relink the site to that address.
Thanks!
Devan

Hi there,
Please note that to transfer your domain registration you must cancel private registration. You can do that by going to Store > My Upgrades in your Dashboard. In addition, you will have to unlock the domain and obtain and authorization EPP code.
To obtain your authorization code you will need to go to your Store -> Domains page and follow the prompts you find there:
1. Look for Domain Administration and change the dropdown menu to “Transfer to Another Registrar”
2. It will state that you may not transfer a domain name for 60 days after its purchase. Click the button “Next Step”
3. Enter a new password, putting it into both blanks (this is a new one you’re making up, so make sure to write it down)
4. Write down your Customer Number which is displayed just below
5. Click the “Save Password” button
6. Click the link for “Manage Your Domains”
7. Log in with your customer number and password that you wrote down in steps 3 & 4 above
8. You will be prompted to create a PIN number
9. You should now be logged in and see a list of your domains. Select your domain.
10. Now, you will need to unlock your domain. Right under Domain Settings you will see ‘Lock’. Click on Manage right underneath ‘On’. Check ‘Off’ and click Save.
11. Toward the bottom of the page you will see ‘Authorization Code’. Please click ‘Email my code’.There are instructions and screenshots here:
Feel free to reach out if you have any questions!
