trying to understand email notifications

    I am registered with my WordPress site to receive email notifications instantly for everything it can except daily writing prompts.

    I scheduled several posts to publish from 4am to 1pm today. I received the first 3 at 6:50am, then 7:00 am, 08:11am, 09:00, 11:57, 11:57 and 12:00.

    Since I am set to receive them instantly I was expecting that to happen. except that the one for 4am, 5 am and 6 am arrive at 6:50. Is this an expected limitation in the system or is it possible to receive them at any time of the day or night?

    Started
    Two days ago (Saturday) i set up a sequence of ten test blogs that were published on Sat 8pm, 9pm, 10pm, 11pm, 12am Sun 1am, 2am, 3am, 4am and 5qm. All of the subscription emails came through on Sunday at 12:31 hrs. I am set up to receive email notifications instantly. I will try this again tomorrow evening. Can anyone suggest why this is happening or how to stop it? Thx NT
