trying to understand parent category

  i have 3 garden categories , but i would like to put them under one category , but as separate categories

  if i make a new garden category as a parent and then add the 3 old one’s as children will that mean that when the parent is clicked it will take you to the other 3 categories to make your choice of which posts you go to see

  i hope you understand what i have tried to say

  The posts filed under subcategories will also show up under the parent category’s archive page.

  do you mean to make 2 of them subcategories and and attach them to a category
