Trying to upgrade plan

Hello, I am trying to upgrade my plan to a premium on with a custom domain. I completed the checkout process and got a ‘success’ message. However, my account is still a free one with no custom domain. Is there a certain waiting period until the upgrade is applied?

This should normally be seamless. I’ve added a ‘modlook’ tag to this thread. One of the WordPress.com staff should have a look at your purchase status and assist you further.

Update: I used another card which made the upgrade happen immediately. I’m not too sure if it was a card error or not as I got a success message with the previous card.
I’ll watch my statements though to make sure nothing strange happens.

Thanks for clarifying! I will still leave this thread marked with “modlook” for staff to see why you got a “success” message on your first transaction.

Hi there,
Our system shows two failed payment attempts – they failed on PayPal’s end after the transaction already went through on ours, which is why you saw the success message here. You’ll need to contact PayPal to find out why they wouldn’t let the transaction process on their end.
