Trying to use WP Engine Migration plug in

    Hi, I’m on the free version of WP and I’d like to migrate to my newly purchased WP Admin site. However it requires a plug in and the site is prompting me to upgrade to a paid version (which I just did) to use a plug in on my WP site.

    If you’re looking at transferring the contents of your WordPress.com site procarelearning.wordpress.com over to your new site you need to follow this guide:

    As far as I know, you don’t need a paid plugin to import your content. The WordPress Importer is a free plugin.

    To clarify, you are wanting to migrate the content that is currently on your free WordPress.com site over to a new WordPress site hosted elsewhere? if that is the case, you do not need a plugin or an a paid dotcom upgrade to migrate your WordPress.com site.

    Yes, I’m sorry I didn’t really explain this all well. I’m currently on a plan on wordpress.com that doesn’t allow plug in’s, of any kind–I’m on a “free” plan and I have no interest in paying $300 to upgrade to business so I can get a single plug in and transfer to my $1200 page–no offense! I can’t download and install any plug in’s–so the fact that the WP Engine transfer plug in is free is moot point.

    The guided transfer link appears to go to a paid service of some kind, that recommends WP Engine hosted, which I’m already paying for with my Growth site.

    I’m not opposed to doing a manual transfer but I’d love to just get it done quicker and more efficiently with a plug in if possible.

    We can only provide plugins under a paid Business Plan.

    Instead, I recommend referring to https://move.wordpress.com/ for the steps you can take with your site currently as-is.
