Tumblr export function
-
Hi folks, I realise you are overloaded with tumblr exports and I guess mine is somewhere in the queue. What I am wondering is if your import process relies upon the tumblr export function. If so, I think I should tell you that I tried tumblr export some months ago and every time I check I find the status remains as “Back-up processing …” and I can’t see how to stop it. Will this prevent you from importing my tumblr posts?
Thanks in advance – Gill.

Hi Gill,
I think I should tell you that I tried tumblr export some months ago and every time I check I find the status remains as “Back-up processing …”
Thank you for sharing this with us. Our Tumblr importer pulls the data from Tumblr directly so it’s not using the export function on Tumblr.
I’ve double checked to confirm your import is indeed still queued and it’s going to start soon. It didn’t cancel. But please do reconnect to your Tumblr account if you’ve disconnected it. And please be patient and keep your connection from Tumblr. Do not try to cancel your import.
We’re processing quite a few imports from Tumblr at the moment, which is causing a backlog of imports in our system. While it may look like your import failed, it’s just in line for processing, and luckily it’s still in the queue.
At this point we’re unable to give an estimate on how long it might take to catch up with the backlog, though – it’s taking longer than anticipated, but the importer is running and will hopefully get to your site soon.
Please take a look at this thread if you haven’t already: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/tumblr-imports/
Thank you for your patience.

Many thanks Regina! Everything on my tumblr was imported. I noticed that the import was still running even though everything was captured so I disconnected it from tumblr – hope this was OK.
I’m totally delighted with the way this has worked!XO – Gill.
