tumblr import?

  okay you know why i’m here. but my tumblr import is taking ages, it’s been a few hours and i’m starting with the smallest blog i have, and it’s showing no progress at all. how long does this usually take?

  Hi there,

  We’re currently experiencing a huge influx of Tumblr imports, so they’re taking longer than usual to complete. It appears that the import for your site is still queued in our system, so it will hopefully complete soon.

  If it hasn’t finished by 24 hours, please let us know and we can reset the importer so you can try again.

  Yeah, okay, that’s what I figured was going on. Hope y’all don’t crash from all the traffic, since there really wasn’t any warning about 50% of tumblr’s userbase up and migrating to every other platform. We’re still in the queue by the looks of things, but hopefully it goes through by tonight.

  I don’t think there’s any risk of crashing, thankfully. Our servers can handle quite a large amount of traffic. But the importer can only run so many jobs at a time and it’s a little overwhelmed. We’re keeping an eye on things to make sure it keeps processing, though :)
