Tumblr Import

Yeah, that just doesn’t make much sense. We don’t store the Tumblr sites without an active import, and we can’t add Tumblr sites without an active authorization cookie from the Tumblr account you’re logged into, and of course the Tumblr account you’re logged into shouldn’t have access to Tumblr sites that it can’t access.
You aren’t still trying this with the Tumblr app, right? It can’t work with that.

Nope, tried two private browsers on my laptop, still the same thing, that’s why I thought it must be a wordpress glitch

Hm, ok, that definitely doesn’t sound right, but I have reached out to one of our developers. We’ll let you know as soon as we hear back.

So, our developers do confirm the process as described earlier.
1. The authorization goes through Tumblr.
2. Tumblr returns only the sites that logged-in Tumblr account has access to.We don’t store anything on our end except the currently-active import. Once there’s no active import, nothing is stored.
So, at least the developers confirm this also makes no sense. :(
You mentioned sending over screenshots of the steps you’re taking earlier. Would you please do that by uploading them to your WordPress.com site’s Media library? We can take a look at them through there.
We also may have a way to force the import through, but our developers would love a chance to see if they can identify what’s going wrong here first.
Thanks!

What you did there was 100% correct, and I also see the issue as described.
I have sent the screenshots over to our developer and we’ll let you know when we hear back!

Well, the bad news is, we’re still not entirely sure what went wrong, still investigating.
But, the good news is, we forced the import for you, so https://rosescentedsins.wordpress.com/ is all good to go. :)

I mean you should see all of the content from https://rosescentedsins.tumblr.com/ imported at https://rosescentedsins.wordpress.com/ now.
We know the importer is still broken somehow, but we had a way on our end to force the import to happen, so we did. :)

No, they’ve been imported to thed4rkestrose, not rosescentedsins, which completely messes up the blog because those posts weren’t meant for that blog
-
So not only are the posts not on the right blog but I have to now go through and delete all the wrong posts from my previous blog
