Tumblr Import (as usual)

I think it’s been at least 24 hours since I restarted my import ( I actually started it two days ago but disconnected it overnight before restarting it yesterday morning) and yeah it’s still stuck at zero.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

I’ve double checked to confirm your import is indeed still queued. It didn’t cancel. But please do reconnect to your Tumblr account if you’ve disconnected it.

We’re processing quite a few imports from Tumblr at the moment, which is causing a backlog of imports in our system. While it may look like your import failed, it’s just in line for processing, and luckily it’s still in the queue. Please allow this to run for the next 24 hours, and if it hasn’t completed by then, update us here.

Ok, it’s been well over 24 hours…. and it still hasn’t shown any progress. Am I still in the queue and it’s just really backed up, or is there something else going on?

  • Unknown's avatar

Oh wait it’s showing 5566 posts imported, it’s just everything else that’s at zero. Nevermind!

  • Unknown's avatar

…. its been on 5566 posts imported for 7 hours now, is that normal?

same with me, mine got stuck too!! I hope we won’t have to restart the import and get stuck at the back of the queue…

  • Hi raiknightshade,

Looks like you reached the 3GB storage limit we have on the free plan. This means that we won’t be able to transfer any more of your media files, but that should not prevent the posts themselves from still importing.

You can upgrade to a plan that offers more storage space and restart the import. Posts and media files already on your WordPress.com site will be skipped by the importer.

Damn, and I don’t have the money to upgrade right now… Is there a way to stop the importer completely? Because there’s a disconnect from tumblr button but not a button that says Stop Import.

  • Hi there,

It looks like the import on your site has completed – some content has been imported, and no import is currently running.

If you’re still missing posts, please restart the import now – posts already on your WordPress.com site will be skipped by the importer. It might take a while to complete, though, as we’re still seeing a lot of new Tumblr imports being created so there’s still a backlog. At this point I’m not able to give an estimate on how long it might take to catch up with the backlog, though.

New media won’t be imported unless you either upgrade or delete some images that have already been imported. Please note that deleting an image from the library will also remove it from any posts where those images appear.

Please create your own thread at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/?new=1 and include a link to your site, and we can help you there. Make sure to add the tags modlook and tumblr import to your thread so we don’t miss it.
