Tumblr Import Crash – Custom Domain Error?
-
My import stalled, and when I refreshed the page, it said it could not import my tumblr blog because it had a custom domain, which it didn’t say before.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
I have gone ahead and reset your Tumblr import at the moment.
Please login into your Tumblr dashboard and deactivate any custom domains you might have at the moment. You can review the instructions on how to do that here:
Once that’s done, you can attempt to import afresh from your Tumblr importer page.
The reason why the custom domain notice might not have been shown earlier is because the Tumblr did not have a custom domain at that time, but does now.
Keep us posted on how it goes!

It doesn’t seem to be having any effect.
My tumblr setting looks like this, no offering for a custom domain at all.
But when I go back to the importer, I get this:

Please try clearing your browser cache and cookies. Then log back into Tumblr and WordPress.com and check if it works then.
-
Okay, I did that and it’s still giving me the domain error. Just to see if maybe it was Chrome having fits, I also tried in both Firefox and Opera. Same. Sorry I’m being a pain.

Good morning –
The import is still queued up for our servers, so it hasn’t started quite yet. With the high influx of Tumblr blogs it is running a little slower than normal.
Let’s see if that error goes away once the import has actually begun.
-
I’ve double checked to confirm your import is still queued. It didn’t cancel. But please do reconnect to your Tumblr account if you’ve disconnected it, as that could be preventing it from starting.
Wait, is this issue happening when you try to reconnect your Tumblr blog? The import won’t start until that happens. Sorry for being confused! Yikes.
-
Yes, it won’t let me reconnect to the tumblr blog I’d been importing. I just get the “custom domain” error every time I try, even though I don’t *have* a custom domain.
-
That’s really odd, @thebiscuiteternal. Did you have one at some point? We’re trying to figure out what would cause this.
Also, can you send the URL for the page where you’re seeing that error?
-
I can’t explain how, but it seems to have fixed itself? Or at least it’s actually importing again instead of just giving me a domain block.

Yeah! We were just going to say, everything on this end is looking alright.
I think if you just sit tight a while it should be fine. We just have lots of blogs coming in. Cheers :)
