tumblr import issue

  Hi. I’m up around 48 hours of queuing now with no posts transferred yet out of the 7000 on my tumblr blog.

  Appreciate any help you can offer under such trying circumstances – you people are great.

  Hi there,

  I’ve double checked to confirm your import is still queued. It didn’t cancel. But please do reconnect to your Tumblr account if you’ve disconnected it, as that could be preventing it from starting.

  We’re processing quite a few imports from Tumblr at the moment, which is causing a backlog of imports in our system. While it may look like your import failed, it’s just in line for processing, and luckily it’s still in the queue. At this point I’m not able to give an estimate on how long it might take to catch up with the backlog, though.

  OK thanks a lot for the confirmation. I suspected that was the case. I’m still logged in to tumblr so I’ll just carry on queuing. Cheers, Jeffrey

  It appears the Tumblr import on your site has now failed, so I’ve reset the importer so you can try again.

  If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re still experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted, but it could be a few days before your new import is processed.

  Thanks a lot for your help. I’ll sit tight. BTW, out of curiosity, if I make another import request on the same blog at a later date will it be processed as an update or will it simply start from scratch again as a new import instance? Cheers, Jeffrey

  @abstrakshun most of our importers skip already-imported posts, but we’ll double check for you.

  Hi again. For weeks now the import has been stuck half way – 3000-odd posts imported out of a total of around 7000 – and is not budging. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.

  Hi –

  What site are you running the import on? I don’t see any pending jobs at https://jeffreyearp.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=tumblr.

  You can go ahead and try running the file again. Be certain that your Tumblr account is connected to your WordPress.com account before starting that process.
