Tumblr import with custom domain

    Hi. I’ve disabled custom domains for my two tumblr blogs, which is now several days ago. No matter how many times I log in and out of the import tool, it still says that my blogs are tied to a custom domain. I’ve disabled it both in tumblr’s dashboard, and my registrar’s website. I do not know what to do at this point.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi there,

    If you’re getting the custom domain error even after switching off the domain on Tumblr’s end, disconnect in the importer, go to the Apps section in Tumblr settings and remove WordPress there, and then restart the import.

    Let us know if that doesn’t work either.

    I have tried that multiple times. It doesn’t help either, sadly.

    You’re trying to import to http://kennetharntsen.wordpress.com/, correct? I’m asking as I don’t see any active connection to Tumblr on that site.

    Can you please confirm if that’s the site, and connect the importer to your Tumblr account so I can check?

    That is correct. I’ve opened a connection now, still no luck.

    And you’ve removed WordPress from your Tumblr setting here before reconnecting? https://www.tumblr.com/settings/apps

    If so, then I have nothing else to suggest, unfortunately. The importer pulls in the current information on your Tumblr account via Tumblr’s API at the moment the connection is made, which means the info you see in the importer is the info Tumblr is sending us. If they’re sending us the wrong information there’s not much we can do on our end.
