Tumblr Importer importing old post count instead of new post count
-
So when I first imported my tumblr into wordpress, I had over 3000 posts. I decided I don’t want to keep those 3000 posts from my tumblr on wordpress anymore, so I deleted all the tumblr posts on wordpress and deleted all the media attached to those posts too.
I only have 1000 posts on my tumblr now. I want to import those 1000 posts into wordpress. The problem is that wordpress keeps trying to import over 3000 posts that aren’t even on my tumblr anymore into wordpress. I’ve tried disconnecting and reconnecting tumblr, but I’m really at a loss on how to make wordpress import the current 1000 posts from tumblr instead of trying to import 3000 posts that have been deleted and are no longer even there.
This is the tumblr I’m trying to import to wordpress: https://chibi-sunrise.tumblr.com/
And this is the wordpress I want the current tumblr posts on: https://chibisunrise.wordpress.com/
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I visited https://chibisunrise.wordpress.com/wp-admin/admin.php?import=tumblr but did not see that your account was connected. Can you connect there so we can take a closer look and see what you are seeing?
Thanks!

I disconnected my tumblr from wordpress because I didn’t want wordpress to import the 3000 posts that aren’t on my tumblr anymore, but if it needs to be connected in order for you to check what the problem is…
It should be connecting now! And it’s still trying to import 3000 posts instead of the current 1000 posts…
Thank you very much for your time!

Thanks for reconnecting! I’m still not too sure what’s going on there but I reset the importer state for you as the migration definitely seemed like it was attempting to get the 3000 posts you don’t have.
Could I ask you to try disconnecting and reconnecting Tumblr one more time? If you didn’t already do so, you may need to disconnect not only here on WordPress.com, but remove WordPress.com as an authorized app from your Tumblr settings first, before reconnecting:

I’ve disconnected and reconnected both on WordPress and Tumblr. The new odd thing is that it has 1000 posts set on my sideblogs too, and none of those sideblogs have 1000 posts… But I’m only importing my main blog and not my sideblogs, so I’m not going to worry about those!
It looks like resetting the importer state did the trick, though? Well, if anything else too weird happens, then I’ll just have to open another topic, right? But everything looks OK now!
Thank you so much for your time!
