tumblr importer problems

Hi, probably a stupid question and i probably caused the issues myself, but i’ve been trying to import my tumblr blogs and i don’t get prompts for ‘connecting to tumblr’ or any of the plugin download notifications I’ve seen on the tutorials and such. instead my import just says ‘in progress’ and the page keeps refreshing, but nothing is actually happening. i know that there is probably a lot of traffic since the announcement of the tumblr purge, and it might be related, but i’m worried i broke the importer for my own uses. especially since it didn’t work the first couple times in similar fashion, i went as far as to delete the newly created sites i was attempting to migrate to see if that helped (like maybe i set something up wrong). Anyway, my latest import attempt appears to be stuck as well and idk what to do to fix it. Thoughts? Insults? I’m open to anything at this point…

Due to the changes at tumblr there is currently heavy traffic at the WordPress.com importer so please be patient as staff work through the backlog. They need to reset your importer themselves. -

I’ve reset the Tumblr importer for your site so you can try again.
If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted.
If the new import doesn’t complete within 24 hours, please let us know.
