Tumblr importer stalled and displaying incorrect blog stats

  • Unknown's avatar

I connected Tumblr importer a long time ago, but now I’m trying to import another blog. While the table has updated to show the more recent roster of blogs available to import, the stats have not updated. I’m trying to import a blog that used to have 500+ posts, but now only has 76. The importer has managed the 76, but has been stuck overnight in progress, I assume, trying to import/find the non-existent remainder. I disconnected and reconnected Tumblr, but the importer just resumed like nothing happened and all the blog stats are still the same. And I see no way to cancel the import.

    WP.com: Yes
    Correct account: Yes

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

Addendum: I have also cleared my browser cache.

  • Hi there!

Can you confirm that you’re trying to import the content to remembertumblragain.wordpress.com? I can see there are two different Tumblr blogs connected to it, one has finished, and the other is queued to start importing. We can reset the import on our end, if things do now work as expected, let me know if this is what you want. Thanks!

Thanx. Yes, I was attempting import to that blog.

I’d like to note a few things that might affect your course of action: Maybe an hour after I posted the topic, I disconnected Tumblr and it is still disconnected, so it was likely disconnected when you picked up this topic. On your end you see that it is queued to start importing, but on my end it had already imported the 76 posts but got stuck and never made it to importing the 23 drafts.

So, rather than resetting the import–assuming you mean that specific one–I would prefer if the cache or connection or whatever can be cleared for the whole Tumblr importer so that I can be certain that all the blogs are displaying the correct stats when I reconnect. As it is right now, no matter how many times I disconnected and reconnected the individual blog stats still reflected the same stats that were pulled the very first time I ever connected the Tumblr importer.

    Thanx.

I’m not sure I understood this issue, can you share with us the page you are on, so we can be sure we are looking at the same thing you are seeing? I’m not sure what stats you are referring to so from that page can you tell us about a few specific ones, and what they say now vs. what they should be saying? Thanks for the additional info!

    Hi,

I’ve tried 5 times, but I seem to be unable to submit a reply with a plain text URL or link.

Replace all “_” with a period.
Replace all “#” with a forward slash.

By stats I mean the number of posts and drafts available to be imported.

I had to reconnect Tumblr to take the screenshot for remembertumblragain_wordpress_com. Every time I reconnect it shows the same stats and statuses.

So rather than just resetting the nostatic_tumblr_com import, I want to flush whatever data that’s cached in the importer itself to force the importer to pull up-to-date stats for all the blogs when I reconnect.

    Thanx.

My apologies if this shows up thrice; I did not appear to post the first two times I submitted.
