Tumblr Importer Stuck Maybe

  Hey there. It’s been a few days since my last post. Been letting the importer run. Finally saw some progress on the 11th, but now the importer is stuck at showing 60 posts imported. Just checking to make sure it’s still chugging along.

  Same problem, Mally. My importer has been stuck at 40 posts since last Saturday.

  I’ve one friend who has about two thousand more posts than me had hers complete last weekend. And she started importing after me. So maybe some of us are stuck in the queue?

  Howdy folks –

  Sounds like the importer is stuck and was unsuccessful. While we’ve had a delay with the imports getting started, due to our Tumblr tool being overwhelmed, they should still complete with in 24 hours.

  Please verify that your Tumblr accounts are connected to WordPress.com. Report back to me here, and I’ll reset the tool.

  Hi Liz thank you for the response! The WP team has been awesome through all of this. Unfortunately, my blog is still stuck showing only 40 of 2000+ post imported (since about last Saturday I think). Thanks for all the help!

  Mine is stuck 4436/5490.
  Is there a way to use the partial download to start the page?
  Does WordPress import from the beginning or from the latest post?
  I have a backup downloaded from Tumblr on my computer. Can I use that to start my WordPress site?

  Hi rivertalesien and mallymcalli,

  It appears the Tumblr import on both of your site has now failed. I’ve reset the importer so you can try again.

  If it seems to take a while, please be patient and don’t try cancelling the process yourself – we’re still experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted, but it could be a few days before your new import is processed.

  If some posts have already imported they will be skipped by the importer during your next attempt, so they should not be duplicated.

  
  @sethmcginnis3205 — please start a new thread for your question and tag it with modlook so we can check your import.
