Tumblr importing reset needed

    I’m another one who tried to import my tumblrs to wp as a backup to a new blog, and it’s stalled. I did try cancelling and resetting, but it’s stuck and says I have an import running when I don’t so I’m going to need the importer reset for me.

    This isn’t a huge priority for me, I just really want to have them backed up somewhere before I delete them.

    Hi Sasha!

    Following Tumblr’s recent announcement regarding content allowed on their service on their service, we’re experiencing unusually high volumes of Tumblr imports, leading to some delays in these imports.

    If you’re trying to import your Tumblr blog to WordPress.com and it looks like the import isn’t starting, please be patient. Imports are being queued on our servers and will be completed in the order that they were started. Please let us know if the import hasn’t completed after 24 hours.

    Staff can help you reset the importer.

    Hi there!

    It appears your Tumblr import was ongoing. For now, I’ve reset the Tumblr importer for your site so you can try again afresh.

    If it seems to take long, please be patient and don’t try canceling the process yourself – we’re experiencing a high volume of imports from Tumblr at the moment causing a backlog of pending imports in our system. The imports are being run in the order they are submitted.

    If the new import doesn’t complete within 24 hours, please let us know.

    Thank you, I should’ve expected there’d be a backlog bc this always happens when there’s an exodus like this, but I tried it anyway like a nonce. I should’ve waited.

    Thanks for resetting it for me. I’ll start it again and leave it alone this time and I’ll let you know if it’s still not working.

    Just updating this to let you know that after 24 hours, the import has not completed. I picked my smallest tumblr, only 44 posts, and it hasn’t completed.

    Good morning –

    The job status is still queued. Your still in line for the import. They aren’t prioritized by size, rather, when the request was initiated.

    In any case, make sure your Tumblr blog is connected to WordPress.com so that the import will be successful once it starts.
