turn OFF admin bar when logged in and viewing site
-
how do I turn OFF the admin bar when I’m logged in and viewing my site? In wordpress.org self-installed sites, I just uncheck it but in wordpress.com there’s no option for that. I’d hate to find out that I have to hide it with CSS.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hiding the Admin bar would mean taking away the use of other members when visiting your blog. It’s ToS violation.

Let me explain that a little more clearly to you. The Admin bar that is at the top of your blog belongs to the person viewing your blog. If I go to your blog, that Admin bar is mine and has links to my tools on it. So what you are asking is to disable what belongs to others and that’s not allowed. If you want to have a site with no Admin bar and/or with no footer credit links then you have to hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install.

sorry, it seems I was unclear. I’m the site admin. when I’m working on the site, I keep the site itself open in one tab and the dashboard open in another. I want to see the site ‘naked’ like the general public sees it, and the admin bar at the top interferes with that. if I log out, and refresh the site, the admin bar goes away.
I also work on a lot of self-installed wp sites and the admin bar can be hidden with a simple un-check of the box on the user options page. that option is missing with wordpress.com. why?

and regarding your follow up, that bar only appears if someone is logged into wordpress.com and is viewing my site. I understand that it will show your own stuff, when viewing my site. the general public will not see the admin bar, however, and I’d like to see the site like that even when I’m logged in on another tab.

I’d suggest opening a different browser. If you edit your site logged in to WordPress.com using Firefox, then open another window in Safari, Chrome, and / or Opera (etc) where you are not logged in to WordPress.com.
If you open several other browsers in different windows, or view your site on different hardware (phone, tablet, laptop, desktop), then you’ll see how it looks subtly different on each.
If you are not logged in on those different browsers, operating systems, then the admin bar you see while you are logged in won’t be there. It should look like what a reader coming to your site would see.
