How do I turn off email send. I am transferring some content from another and site and I don’t want my subscribers to get bombarded with emails.

New posts are automatically sent through the newsletter and the only control you get on that is who gets to view the posts
WordPress.com will only send out notifications for new public posts. Publishing other content types (like pages or a custom post type) or updating an already published post will not send a notification e-mail. If your site is set to private, your subscribers will not receive any email notifications of your posts.

An option is to set your site to private, while you are transferring the new content. That way no-one gets bombarded with emails if you dont intend for your readers to get the posts. Here is a guide on site privacy settings
