Turn off Follow Blog widget temporarily without losing subscribers

  I’m using the Follow Blog widget and want to know if there is any way to add a bunch of posts to my blog without followers getting a ton of new content notifications? Basically, we’ve got a family blog and I need to post all the content for 2013 and wonder if there is any way for me to temporarily turn off the widget or suspend notifications without losing my list of subscribers or forcing them to re-subscribe so 20+ posts can go up without them getting 20+ email notifications?
