Turn off “Replies” on Pages

I think I’m going a little nuts … How do you eliminate “REPLIES” from Pages. The instructional video shows a “Comment” switch to deny comments on PAGES, but I can’t find it on my new blog ( http://treelodi.wordpress.com/ ) . I turned off all “commenting” switches under Settings – Discussion. I must be missing something. Simply put, I don’t want a “REPLY” or “Comment” feature on any PAGES.

    Thanks,
    Keith

The default setting are on theis page Settings > Discussion >

If you do not want comments on any static pages you can overide the default on any page (or post for the matter). Edit a page or create a new one. Now Look below the editor box and locate the Discussion module.

    Discusssion
    __ Allow comments.
__ Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page.

Disable those two and then publish or update the page as the case may be. Note you will have to do this on each page you create.

    Timethief,

Your advice is correct … but none of my blogs (4) have the “Discussion” module when adding or editing a PAGE. It’s OK for POSTS. Where did the “Allow comments” checkbox go?

Solution: panaghiotisadam’s link above contained the answer. Somehow, under “Screen Options”, the DISCUSSION box got unchecked (not my doing). This turned off the “Discussion” module on the new/edit PAGES on ALL blogs.

That was weird, but an easy one to fix.
