Turn off two-step authentication for my account, at least at one site?
-
At NBCSports.com, or at least on sections of that site, WP insists on two-step authentication before viewer comments are accepted. I use an email provider with whom I am beginning to suspect WP has less than an amicable relationship in penteledata (PTD) from Palmerton, Pennsylvania, who uses the ‘zimbra’ platform to manage user email. Any time an authentication is requested for me to comment at an NBCSports page, the WP system either quietly refuses, or takes an unacceptably-long time, to provide the necessary code. Changing the base email address as far as I can tell does not improve this prospect, and anyhow there are next to no other providers to which I could totally migrate my account data from PTD without a LOT of cost and hassle. Can you tell NBCSports to turn off two-step authentication, or do it at your end?

Hi! Their site isn’t hosted on our servers:
They seem to be using their own instance of WordPress with another provider, which would mean the 2FA rule is their own. I’d encourage you to ask them directly about changing the requirement, or at least allowing you to remember a device.
Hoping this helps!
