turning off pingbacks, trackbacks

  How do I stop pingbacks & trackbacks from appearing in my comment section?

  Dashboard > Settings > Discussion
  Discussion Settings
  ___Default article settings
  ___Default article settings Attempt to notify any blogs linked to from the article.
  ___Allow link notifications from other blogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)

  Remove checkmarks and scroll down and “Save Changes”

  Also note: That removes the checkmarks from automatically appearing on Posts and Pages below the editor box in the Discussion box
  ___Allow trackbacks and pingbacks on this page

  To confirm it’s not marked just look at it before clicking “Publish”.
