Turning off the related posts

I tolerated the feature on my blog for a while, because it seemed good for getting more visitors.

In reality only a dozen or so people came from those posts from the +- 1000 visitors I get a day.

The reason I’m not going to use it anymore is pretty simple.

    1) most posts are unrelated
    2) conflicts with my position on the subject

I just made a site about a video editor for ubuntu linux

    the related links were:

    1) a unrelated post from my own blog
    2) “hitler”s remixes are big – on youtube”
    3) something about music playlist from mtv.com

What do those things have to do with a video editor?

Does the software gets confused because there was a youtube link in the post or the word “video” was mentioned.

If so, this software is not ready to be deployed on a large scale.

The idea behind this feature is good, if the “related posts” were actually related, I would use it.

Whether or not the software is ready it has been deployed across a large scale eg 2 million blogs.
