Turning secondary blog into new user account.

    Hi,

I was just wondering if it was possible to turn a secondary blog into a separate new user account without changing the blog address so that they would have the same user name and address. I stupidly made a second blog instead of a new user account with the name I want to use and have spent a while searching for solutions and looking through all the options and from what I can tell it’s probably not possible but I thought it wouldn’t hurt to double check. Obviously you can transfer the blog name to another account and I found a way to make a new user account if you change the name, but as far as I can tell there’s no option to make a new user account with the name you’re already using. I don’t know if it would be useful for people to be able to split (and perhaps combine) user accounts in more ways in the future or if it would only cause more problems and confusion, but I know I’d find it helpful right now!

Any help or suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thanks. :)

Please see what Staff (macmanx) saiys here:

Blog names are the same as usernames for the most part. Usernames can be turned into blog names, but blog names cannot be turned into usernames.

You can register any other username and move your blog to it following the guide at http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account but you won’t be able to register https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/cant-change-username-because-i-use-same-display-name?replies=5

Ok, that’s what I thought, but I wanted to double check. It’s a shame there’s not an option to do that if you have already registered the blog name, but I understand it would probably make the whole system a lot more complicated!

    Thanks for your help. :)
