Tweaking gallery image links

I haven’t found a support page or forum topic dealing with this specifically (though the amount of stuff to wade through is pretty immense- if I missed something just let me know).

Here’s what I’m looking to do- on my Welcome page I want to have a series of images that link to the respective pages on the site. Using the gallery provided a cleaner, more visually appealing and uniform look than adding the images independently, so I’m trying to go with that. The problem is getting the gallery images to link to the proper site pages- the only options are to link to the image or the image attachment page. I can’t find a way to change the attachment page through the Media Library and changing the gallery shortcode only made my gallery vanish altogether!

Is there any way to tweak the gallery to link to the pages I want? Or am I better off just attaching the images independently on the page?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

As you said, the only options when you insert a gallery are link to image or link to attachment page. You need independently inserted thumbnails. If you set their alignment to left, they’ll show up in rows.

The last choice you gave is really the only choice because Gallery will link to an image or an attachment page and nothing else.
