Twenty Eleven and Latex

  Hi there,

  I’m not sure if this is an issue that can be resolved right away, but the LaTeX in the WordPress Twenty Eleven theme is a bit broken. To be specific, it is not aligned properly with regular text.

  Anyways, are there any plugins that could fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

  Sorry, plugins are not allowed at wordpress.COM for security reasons. Plugins are for self-hosted wordpress sites using the software from wordpress.ORG.

  I’ll tag this thread for staff attention and to have it moved to the themes forum so that hopefully one of the theme team will see it and respond shortly.

  To freely adjust the vertical alignment, use this (and change the percentage as you see fit):
  <span style="vertical-align:20%;">LATEX CODE HERE</span>

  I wish there was a real solution for this, since I really prefer Twenty Eleven to Twenty Ten… wouldn’t it be quite a quick fix to the theme? It would be much appreciated.

  Hi, I understand that LaTeX is shown a bit disturbed in Twenty Eleven. This is because of the larger size of paragraph texts. I have compromised with it by using Times New Roman fonts (which is relatively small in size and fixes the problem).
  If you don’t want to do so, then you may increase the size of LaTeX images: $latex [your TeX code]&s=1$.

  Note: the bad vertical alignment is by no means limited to 2011- happens in many themes.

  Thanks for the reply, wpgaurav, but doesn’t it cost extra money to modify the font used in a theme?

  These are the 3 ways we can change fonts on free hosted WordPress.com blogs:

  (1) Changing font families, colors and size in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page by coding into the HTML editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/font-size-color/

  (2) Changing font colors in text in posts or pages either post by post or page by page using the #4 icon (Select text color – change the text color) in Row 2 the Visual editor. http://en.support.wordpress.com/visual-editor/#row-2

  (3) Changing all font families, colors and sizes throughout the whole blog by purchasing an annually renewable Custom Design upgrade and using Typekit Fonts with Staff support. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/

  Note: Any font changes to font families, colors and size in the blog title, tagline, post titles, page titles, categories and tags, widget headings, and links cannot be done without a custom design upgrade and undertaking the required CSS editing.
